The Tangerine Tentacles are the group of pirates working under Christine's command, located mainly around the islands in the Eastern Ocean. Their emblem depicts a sailboat about to be attacked by large, submerged orange tentacles. Their crew color is a vibrant red-orange.

History[]

The Tangerine Tentacles were formed by Christine and several other members of the Timberdoodle Naval Infantry. The lower-ranked members of the Naval Infantry were fed up with being assigned chump work and getting barely any pay, whereas Christine herself disliked the murder-centric plots she had to carry out for the Naval Infantry. After some discussion, the group came up with a plan: steal the Naval Infantry's best ship and form their own pirate group centered around plundering and treating each member as equal. Due to Christine's experience in the Naval Infantry, it was decided that she would be the leader of the group and the captain of its best ship.

After a few weeks of fleshing the plan out and preparing, the group infiltrated the Naval Infantry's dock, donning cheap red-orange jackets to prevent the Naval Infantry from knowing it was an inside job. The group managed to take possession of and sail away from the docks unscathed in the Naval Infantry's best ship, a galley which the group christened The Bloodorange based on the color of their apparel during the event. Continuing the orange-themed naming scheme, as well as affectionately alluding to their captain's ability to morph her hair into the likeness of a tentacle, the group titled itself the Tangerine Tentacles.

Activities[]

The Tangerine Tentacles is different from most pirate groups in that they'd rather avoid full-on combat, choosing instead to board other pirate ships, forcing them to surrender and stealing their goods. They've also been known to invade small towns on land, breaking into houses and ransacking them. As part of a moral code they've established, they will not steal everything they find; they generally leave behind enough for their victims to live on for a week or so. They do not seek to harm others directly, instead merely pursuing a life of wealth and luxury. Occassionally, if the need arises, they will board and take over entire ships belonging to other crews, absorbing said crew into the Tangerine Tentacles by force.

Relationships[]

Timberdoodle Naval Infantry – The Tangerine Tentacles and the Timberdoodle Naval Infantry are direct enemies, as the Naval Infantry seeks revenge on the Tangerine Tentacles for infiltrating their docks and stealing their best boat. If a Naval Infantry ship spots another ship with a flag donning the Tangerine Tentacles' emblem, the captain will surely give the order to pursue and attack it. About four major ships were lost on both sides due to combat between the two groups, and over fifty crew members were killed or severely injured in battle.
